We are pleased to announce the release of las2dem_new64:
- complete redesign of las2dem.
- processes large files significantly faster while retaining the popular „spike free“ argument, resulting in smoother output .
- combines the speed of blast2dem with the ability of las2dem to perform spike-free operations (which blast2dem cannot do due to the architecture of the algorithm).
Since las2dem_new64 is a completely new development, the output is similar to las2dem, but not binary compatible. Therefore, it is being released as a new tool. For a general speed increase and multi-core processing, tiling very large datasets is still recommended. However, las2dem_new64 offers the ability to generate spike-free models significantly faster overall.
